Grants for Felons in Kentucky
Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) – Felons who need help obtaining food may qualify for the SNAP program. Housing and Urban Development (HUD) – Those who need help finding affordable housing or paying for their rent may qualify for help through HUD. This is a federally funded program that helps people to find affordable housing. They will help pay for rent, avoid foreclosure, and assist with weatherization services. They also own housing complexes, called Section 8, where people who need affordable housing can live. Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP) – Felons who need help paying their utility bills may qualify for a grant through LIHEAP. To qualify for the grant, you have to show you have a low income, and do not have liquid assets of more than $2,000. Some people may qualify for help, but not receive the full grant. They may instead get a portion of their bill paid. They also provide air conditioners during summer months.
