Housing and Urban Development (HUD) – Housing can be one of the biggest monthly bills that someone has. Felons who need housing assistance may qualify for some of the programs offered through HUD. The HUD programs include those that provide low income housing in units they own, called Section 8, as well as rent assistance, foreclosure avoidance, and weatherization services. Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) – Felons who need food help in Hawaii may qualify for a SNAP grant. The grant is given on a monthly basis to those who qualify.
