Walmart is the largest retailer in the country. As such, they not only make a lot of money, but they try to give a lot of money away, too. Part of their mission is to help give back to the community. One way they do that is through community grants. Felons can apply for the $5,000 Walmart Grant’s that the company gives away each year.

Felons who would like grants to help fund various projects they would like to do, or to start a small business, should consider the Walmart Grants. Each year, Walmart gives away a lot of money to community projects and in grants to others to help with where they live. The grant program is available every year, so be sure to familiarize yourself with the details before submitting your application.

About Walmart Grants

Grants, unlike loans, do not ever have to be paid back. They are something that is given to people in need, including felons, to help with a project, goal, or to fund a business. They are like small gifts to help people with what they want to accomplish. They will not earn interest and you will not have to pay them back. They are essentially considered to be free gifts that are yours to keep.

Walmart Grants are given out to people in the community. The goal is for the funds to be used in a way that will help to make the community better. There are a lot of ways that felons can use the funds to help make the community better. If you have great ideas for something you want to do and it meets their requirements, then you may be a good candidate to apply for one of the yearly Walmart Grants.

Walmart Grant Information

The Walmart Grants are a great program that felons can apply for. The grants are given out each year. Here are some of the most important pieces of information to know about the Walmart Grants:

  • The program offers grants from both Walmart and Sam’s Club, which is owned by the Walmart Company as well. They are given out by the location that is closest to you. It’s a good idea to locate the Walmart or Sam’s Club near you and reach out to them to inquire about yearly grants. Ask them what is available, how you can get involved, and what the process is to apply at the local level.
  • The grants range in how amount, with the lowest being $250. The highest grants that are given out are for $5,000. It’s a good idea to determine ahead of time how much you feel you need for what you want to do. That way you will go into it knowing exactly what amount of a grant will be helpful. You may end up with a different amount, if you are awarded one, but you will have a frame of reference to go off if they ask you how much you need to fund your mission.
  • The new grant year always begins on February 1, and it goes through the end of December. You can submit your application for a grant anytime during those months. Felons who would like to apply for a Walmart Grant do not have to wait until any specific month. January is the only month you will want to skip apply, because a new cycle will begin the following month.
  • Applications only remain active for 90 days. This means that after you have submitted your grant application if you haven’t heard anything then it is no longer active. You can re-apply every 90 days so that you continue to have an active application on file. Once you receive a grant you will no longer have to put in another application, unless you are seeking a second grant.
  • During one calendar year, you can only apply for 25 grants. You do have the ability to receive more than one grant per year.

How Grants are Awarded

Once your application for a grant is submitted it will be reviewed by your local branch. The management at each local branch has the ability to review them and determine if you have a good cause and the idea should be funded. They also have the right to determine how much grant funds you should be awarded.

Walmart Grants are a great way for felons to get the help they need to fund programs they are interested or involved in. Be sure to apply numerous times and reach out to your local branch. That is the best way to ensure that your grant application will get the attention it needs. Grants are a great way to make the community better, and felons can help give back by being the ones to get the grants to make it happen.
