One of the most important things that people need to be able to become self-sufficient is reliable transportation. The good news is that there is car repair assistance for ex-felons in the U.S.

Lutheran Services in America – This organization has over 300 locations in the country. They have programs that are designed to help people in need in each of the communities they are located in. Their focus is on providing health and human services assistance to those in need. They will help people who need car repair assistance. Ex-felons can reach out to a location that is near them to see if they offer the service, or if they know another organization in the area that does. St. Vincent de Paul – This is an international organization that has locations around the world, as well as across the United States. They have numerous programs to help people in need, and they will also help with car repair assistance for ex-felons. They will also help with mentoring those who need help transitioning, and they have an Immersion program. Their Immersion program helps ex-felons who are returning to society. Temporary Government Assistance – The federal government offers cash assistance programs, where they provide help for those who qualify. If you have a low income and at least one child, you may qualify for Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF). Some of the states also offer General Assistance, which is a monthly cash assistance program for those who have a low income and do not have any dependent children. Being able to get the funds needed to repair your car is an important step in being self-sufficient. There are organizations and programs that will provide the assistance you need. In addition to the options listed above, also reach out to your local churches. Many of them have programs in place that will help with situations like this, even if you don’t regularly attend their church.
